Interior designer
Your responsibilities
- Producing functional designs and visualisations for kitchens, wardrobes, built-in furniture and office furniture, based on the site survey.
- Choosing materials, fronts and hardware with the client, within the budget agreed at the first conversation.
- Preparing technical drawings for production, with a specification of parts and hardware.
- Taking part in client meetings at the design and quote stages.
- Talking through unusual construction details with the cabinetmakers.
What we’re looking for
- Experience designing made-to-measure furniture or interiors.
- Familiarity with 3D design software, for example SketchUp or AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of furniture materials and the basics of interior ergonomics.
- Able to talk to a client about budget and technical options without promising anything production can’t deliver.
Nice to have
- A relevant qualification: interior architecture, design or a related field.
- A portfolio of completed made-to-measure furniture projects.
- Experience preparing technical drawings for CNC machining.

You design furniture based on the site survey and your conversations with the client, from the first functional layout to the technical drawings for production. You work in one team with the cabinetmakers and fitters, so you see your designs being machined on the CNC and fitted on site.
